Restoration of a limed oak kitchen in Hayfield
This Kitchen in Little Hayfield, Derbyshire, had a limed oak finish which the client liked and wished to maintain. If you look closely you can see a lot of cosmetic damage and discolouration. It was my aim to bring this old finish back to life so after cleaning I made various tints to tone in each door and unify the base colour colour. Once I was happy the doors were re-limed and then re-lacquered, the timber worktop lipping was sanded back and re-limed and lacquered. The existing oak knobs were replaced with new completing the transformation.
