Craftsmanship and attention to detail
Usually the kitchens we refinish have real wood doors which is why most of the time they are worth refinishing. We prefer to paint and refurbish real wood doors because we can prepare them properly and achieve results that resemble newly painted factory doors.
We don’t usually paint over existing vinyl doors but if the vinyl looks like it can be easily removed we can take it off and paint the base MDF layer, providing there isn’t too much glue on the door face and the edges. If you have this type of door we would do an initial survey to determine whether the job is something we’d take on.
The idea that poor kitchen doors can be improved with a new coat of paint is misleading. Sometimes your money is better spent buying new kitchen doors.
Keeping the process nice and tidy
We start a project by carefully removing as much of the kitchen fascia as possible so we can limit the amount of painting required in your home. This keeps the whole process nice and tidy. After collecting your cabinet doors and other parts we paint spray them with care and attention to ensure the best possible results.
The paints we use are for professional use and provide a durable, wipeable surface that withstands most household chemicals.
Some of the paints we use contain solvents and we try to avoid using these in your home. We’ll carry out a thorough ventilation assessment in your home to help us choose the right approach.
Giving your kitchen a new dimension
Using our considerable skill and experience we can give your kitchen a new dimension by introducing or refinishing some of the original wooden elements. Choosing two varying shades of colour can also bring interest to a simple kitchen layout.
As experienced and skilled wood finishers we can also restore other items of furniture and woodwork as part of your kitchen refinishing project.
