Refinishing an oak kitchen in Scarborough
This is a job we carried out for a couple in Scarborough. Their kitchen was finished in light cathedral oak. We stripped everything out of the kitchen apart from three wall end panels which were sanded back and painted in situ. Everything else was taken safely back to our workshop in Tameside. The colour chosen here was to match Farrow and Ball’s Mizzle in a 10 % matt finish. Upon returning with the doors and my trusty retired friend Steve, we spent two days at the house painting the remaining wood work and reassembling the cabinets. We also painted all the carcass lipping, as in this instance the margins between the doors were greater than anticipated, which would have spoiled a nice job.
